Overview

Responsible for supporting the design and development of new products for the fire extinguisher market. 

Responsibilities

• Perform market research to understand market requirements for new product opportunities. 
• Conceptualize new product ideas by using Autodesk Inventor CAD software to design prototypes. 
• Work with regulatory agencies such as: UL, FM, ect for product approvals/compliance and associated listings.
• Conduct R&D efforts involving hands-on prototype development, function testing and required performance/ verification testing. 
• Maintain product continuous improvement efforts supporting production. 
• Create technical documents and instruction literature. 
• Ability to handle a dynamic workload: from heavy multi-tasking during peak workloads to very focused detail-oriented work during critical projects. 
• High degree of attention to detail; demonstrates accuracy and self-directed, energetic, dependable, and thorough, with the ability to handle multiple responsibilities and tasks on regular basis. 
• Ability to manage scheduled projects from concept to completion within estimated timeline. 

• Pursuit of mechanical or electrical engineering career from an ABET accredited university. 
• Familiar with data acquisition hardware/software. 
• Excellent team communication, time management, human relations, and organizational skills.
• Excellent interpersonal skills, proficiency in written and verbal communication.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Autodesk Design Suite, and Adobe Acrobat.
