Responsibilities:
Curriculum Design: Develop and implement an engaging, project-based curriculum aligned with Florida state standards, with a strong focus on Algebra 1 and Geometry standards assessed on the End-of-Course (EOC) exams. Co-plan and co-teach within a collaborative classroom model to ensure students remain on grade level while closing identified skill gaps.
Interdisciplinary Collaboration: Partner with faculty across different departments to integrate your subject into broader, real-world academic projects.
Classroom Management: Foster a positive, inclusive, and high-expectations learning environment.
Student Assessment: Utilize data-driven instruction to assess progress, provide constructive feedback, and close learning gaps.
Technology Integration: Effectively use Google for Education and 1:1 Chromebooks to enhance instruction.
Mentorship: Promote leadership, personal responsibility, and academic growth among a diverse student body.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree or higher in education or a related field
Valid State Teaching Certification in Mathematics 6-12.
Experience with Project-Based Learning (PBL) or student-centered instruction is highly preferred.
Strong classroom management skills and proficiency with educational technology.
Performance Incentive:
Patel High School values measurable student growth and academic achievement. This position is eligible to receive a $50 performance bonus for each student who earns a passing score on the Algebra 1 End-of-Course (EOC) assessment. Eligibility and payout are determined by the Principal and are contingent upon official assessment outcomes and effective professional evaluation.
