ALCS JV Head Baseball Coach

ABUNDANT LIFE CHRISTIAN SCHOOL JV HEAD BASEBALL COACH

The JV Head Baseball Coach is responsible for leading the junior varsity baseball program and
developing student-athletes both on and off the field. This position plays a vital role in building
fundamentals, baseball IQ, character, and competitiveness while preparing players for future success
at the varsity level. The JV Head Coach works closely with the Varsity Head Coach to ensure alignment
in philosophy, culture, and player development.

Primary Responsibilities

Plan, organize, and lead all JV baseball practices, games, and team activities

Teach and reinforce fundamental baseball skills, including hitting, throwing, fielding, base running, and situational awareness

Implement offensive, defensive, and pitching philosophies consistent with the varsity program

Collaborate with the Varsity Head Coach regarding player development, evaluations, and program expectations

Foster a positive, disciplined, and growth-oriented team culture

Promote sportsmanship, accountability, and respect for teammates, opponents, and officials

Evaluate players and provide constructive feedback to support individual growth

Communicate effectively with players, parents, coaching staff, and athletic administration

Supervise student-athletes during practices, games, team travel, and team functions

Assist with equipment management, uniforms, field setup, and program logistics as needed

Qualifications

Prior baseball coaching or playing experience preferred

Strong knowledge of baseball fundamentals and player development at the high school level

Demonstrated leadership, communication, and organizational skills

Ability to teach, motivate, and mentor student-athletes

Commitment to developing student-athletes academically, athletically, and personally

Willingness to work collaboratively within a coaching staff

Must meet all school, league, and state coaching certification requirements

Preferred Qualifications

Previous head or assistant coaching experience at the secondary level

Experience developing players for advancement to varsity competition

Compensation:  Seasonal stipend
