Position Overview
The AIT Manager will be responsible for overseeing all activities related to the assembly, integration, and testing of small and micro satellite systems. This role requires a deep understanding of satellite technologies, strong leadership skills, and a focus on quality and timely delivery. The selected candidate will be responsible for managing AIT operations, coordinating interdisciplinary teams, and ensuring that all processes comply with the required technical standards. AIT manager will be owner to build best practices for AIT management across future programs and shuould be involved in selection and training of futures AIT program management figures.
Key Responsibilities
1. Assembly and Integration Management
• Manage and oversee assembly, integration, and testing (AIT) operations for small and micro satellite projects.
• Coordinate and supervise the assembly, integration, and testing of satellite components and subsystems.
• Ensure all AIT activities are performed in accordance with defined procedures and industry standards.
• Manage the scheduling of AIT activities, ensuring that all tasks and milestones are completed within established timelines.
• Troubleshoot technical issues during the AIT process.
2. Testing and Quality Control
• Supervise satellite system testing processes, including functional, environmental, and performance tests.
• Ensure the implementation of methodologies and protocols.
• Develop training programs for AIT team members to enhance their technical skills and ensure adherence to best practices.
• Facilitate effective communication within the AIT team and between departments.
3. Process Improvement
• Continuously evaluate and improve AIT processes, tools, and methodologies.
• Implement best practices to optimize integration and testing activities, reducing costs and risks.
• Propose improvements in workflows, testing techniques, and equipment.
4. Compliance with Safety and Health
• Ensure that assembly, integration, and testing data are traceable for future reference.
Requirements:
• Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• Experience: At least 5-7 years of experience in assembly, integration, and testing (AIT) activities within the aerospace or satellite industry, with at least 2-3 years in a leadership role.
• Possession of a driving license (Category B).
Technical Skills:
• In-depth knowledge of small and micro satellite systems and components.
• Experience with satellite integration testing equipment and tools.
• Strong understanding of industry standards and protocols, including ECSS, NASA, MIL.
• In-depth knowledge of satellite assembly and integration in cleanroom environments, through quality and product assurance flow activities.
• Experience with planning and managing satellite missions.
• Advanced knowledge of AIT software and tools (e.g., test management software, data logging systems).
• Experience with environmental testing (vibrations, thermal vacuum, etc.).
• Full-time position, based at our facility in Settimo Torinese.
• Some travel may be required for site visits, client meetings, and satellite missions.
• Working hours may be flexible, depending on project deadlines.
