AIS Middle Office - Senior Associate

Looking forward to a Senior Associate for Alternative Investment Services with experience in Private Equity, Hedge Fund portfolio valuations. The incumbent would join a team of accountants responsible for Alternative Investment Administration Services.

Primary Responsibilities & Skill Sets:

Would be a part of the team for Alternatives Investment Services primarily responsible for end-to-end accounting and valuations of Private Equity & Hedge Funds for Limited Partners reporting into an Officer.

Operational Skill sets

• Should have an overall 4+ years of experience into Alternative ops.
• Should work with relentless focus on meeting SLAs with regards to quality and timeliness for the assigned clients.
• Should be a quick learner and act as an auditor for the processors tagged under him.
• Should liaise with the reporting manager on continuous process improvements for his team.
• Required to work closely with global teams in a large and complex organization.
• Act as a point of contact for client issues, queries and escalations assigned to him.
• Expected to participate and provide solutions on Client Calls along with other internal State Street teams like Client Services and Client Relationship.
• Would be required to work during US hours.

Functional Skill set:

• Strong analytical skill with ability to manipulate large set of data related to fetching PCAP’s, Notices, LOD’s from GP / IM portals or track them through emails for hefty volumes.
• Perform end-to-end accounting and valuations of Private Equity & Hedge Funds and sign-off daily / monthly valuations and NAVs for hedge and PE funds for LP clients.
• Should have ability and knowledge to interpret the PCAP’s, ILPA’s, Notices & LOD’s book capital activities / cash flows accordingly.
• Track, review and get the cash breaks coded to his clients resolved by following up with relevant teams within 30 days of aging.
• Should be able to review and validate all the executed controls related to his assigned funds/clients.
• Should be able to identify and resolve the errors caught during reviews.
• Should be able to coach his processors for any issues, errors identified during fund audits.
• Should have good understanding of Alternative Investments like Hedge, Private Equities and other Alternative Investment products.
• Should possess good understanding of accounting as per US GAAP or IFRS.
• Should have a good knowledge and understanding of overall asset classes traded over exchange in primary & secondary markets and OTC.
• Proficiency in Python tools and ability to manage and work with complex data sets.

Risk Management:

• Should execute and apply all the controls and provide a sign-off through established checklists for the clients assigned.
• Should be able to assess issues and try to identify control gaps.
• Should liaise and support his manager to evaluate and remediate Operational Incidents informed internally or externally.

Educational Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree into Accounting or Financial Management.
• Proficiency in Python tools.
