49 Solutions has an exciting opportunity to bid on an RFP for a Senior Computer Application Support Specialist at DND. We are seeking an experienced professional to support complex applications, act as a key escalation point, and contribute to the full application lifecycle. This role also requires experience with AI/ML products or solutions in a Government of Canada environment.
Location: Carling Campus, 60 Moodie Drive, Ottawa, ON
Security Clearance: Secret

Requirements:
Minimum Mandatory Criteria:
• Education: Certificate, diploma, or degree in Computer Science or related field from a recognized Canadian post-secondary institution.
• Experience:
• 5 years of senior-level application support within the past 8 years, including independent diagnosis and resolution of complex issues, escalation support, and involvement in application lifecycle activities (user stories, backlog management).
• 3 years within the past 7 years supporting AI/ML products or solutions for the Government of Canada.
Typical Duties:
• Coordinate emerging technology application specifications.
• Act as liaison between vendors, IT technicians, and end-users.
• Provide training, guidance, and expertise in emerging technology and special application support.
• Emulate or reproduce user-reported technical problems.
• Advise and train users to resolve issues.
• Recommend and implement complex security requirements.
• Support business systems, network, and internet services.
• Maintain problems and solutions logs.
• Design, configure, and deploy server-based file systems and applications.
• Research and resolve complex technical issues.
• Recommend new products or processes to enhance business activities.
• Plan or participate in department-wide system upgrades.
Qualifications:
• Strong problem-solving and independent working abilities.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Hands-on experience with AI/ML applications in a Government of Canada environment.
• Proven ability to provide guidance to both technical and non-technical staff.
