At Uni Systems, we are working towards turning digital visions into reality. We are continuously growing and we are looking for a professional AI & Data Engineer to join our UniQue Ispra team.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to work closely with our customers in the public sector and you will be responsible for developing new business by identifying profitable opportunities, maintaining your client portfolio by building strong, long-lasting relationships, and monitoring the progress of the projects, with the aim to provide excellent client service and added value services.
What will you be bringing to the team?
• Understand engineering, environmental, and Sevilla process aspects, including current data collection and analysis workflows
• Collaborate with stakeholders to support data-driven insights and recommendations
• Ensure data quality, validation, integrity, and proper information management
• Develop and maintain internal documentation, procedures, and guidelines
• Manage and update SharePoint thematic spaces
• Maintain Teams group to support communication and collaboration
• Participate in training and capacity-building activities related to AI and data science
• Develop web crawlers and automated data pipelines for emerging technology monitoring
• Implement AI/NLP models to analyse and categorise technology trends
• Maintain systems for continuous monitoring of technology deployment across industries
• Integrate external data sources, APIs, and databases
• Build tools to process and analyse large volumes of stakeholder input (e.g. comments, reports, notes)
• Implement NLP models for:
• Text classification
• Topic modelling
• Sentiment analysis
• Summarisation
• Develop dashboards and analytics systems to support policy teams
• Implement privacy-compliant and data protection architectures
• Ensure compliance with security standards and data governance policies
• Design systems enabling secure participation in consultation processes
• Design scalable architectures integrating AI models, databases, APIs, and cloud services
• Implement CI/CD pipelines for AI-enabled applications
• Monitor and maintain deployed systems
• Collaborate daily with project officers, IT services and relevant European Institution data teams
• Participate in agile development processes and iterative feedback loops
Requirements:
• Master Degree in a scientific or technical field (e.g. Computer Engineering, Computer Science) with a focus on AI development + 9 years of relevant working experience
• Strong foundation in coding, machine learning frameworks, natural language processing, data management, and mathematics
• At least two years of working experience in Computer Science and in particular Artificial Intelligence, Data Science and Software Engineering
• Excellent knowledge of large-scale text analysis
• Good understanding of data governance and compliance principles
• Experience with graph-based or semantic technologies
• Familiarity with policy-related or regulatory data systems
• Ability to understand, speak and write in English (B2). Other languages as Spanish is an advantage
Desirable
• Experience with data visualisation tools
• General knowledge of industrial and/or environmental engineering
• Understanding of the European environmental legal framework.
