As we scale into our next phase of growth, we’re looking for an experienced AI Architect to define the foundations of secure, model-agnostic AI environments, ensuring organisations can innovate rapidly while maintaining control, trust, and resilience.

About the Role

We are seeking an AI Architect responsible for designing secure, model-agnostic AI architectures aligned to enterprise environments. This role will define the Secure AI Architecture Blueprint, ensuring AI systems are cost-efficient, high-performing, and governed by design.

You will play a critical role across delivery, translating strategy into architecture, embedding governance and security controls, and guiding implementation teams to deliver scalable, future-proof AI solutions.

This role is ideal for someone who blends deep technical expertise with strong consulting and storytelling capability, able to design complex systems while clearly articulating their value to business and executive stakeholders.

What You’ll Do

Design Secure AI Architectures

• Define and deliver the Secure AI Architecture Blueprint aligned to enterprise environments
• Develop tool-agnostic integration patterns across platforms such as Microsoft Foundry, AWS Bedrock, and broader AI ecosystems
• Ensure architectures are scalable, flexible, and aligned to long-term enterprise strategy

Build Model-Agnostic & Future-Proof Systems

• Design architectures that maintain model independence and avoid vendor lock-in
• Incorporate MCP gateway principles to support controlled, extensible model interaction
• Ensure enterprise data remains within controlled boundaries, with secure interaction patterns

Design RAG & Orchestration Layers

• Define Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) architectures and orchestration frameworks
• Optimise for performance, cost-efficiency, and scalability across AI workloads
• Enable reusable, modular AI components across use cases

Embed Governance & Security by Design

• Integrate security, privacy, and governance controls directly into architecture design
• Ensure compliance with enterprise standards and resilience against adversarial risks
• Support governance frameworks that enable safe, responsible AI deployment at scale

Provide Technical Leadership

• Lead architectural decision-making across all phases of delivery
• Translate strategic objectives into scalable, implementable solutions
• Guide engineering and delivery teams with clear technical direction and best practices

Engage & Influence Stakeholders

• Act as a storyteller...translating complex AI architectures into clear business value
• Communicate effectively with executives and stakeholders on the AI journey, risks, and outcomes
• Support alignment between business goals and technical delivery

Requirements:
• 8+ years’ experience in architecture, data, or AI engineering roles (must have come from developer or software engineering over a Data science background)
• Proven experience designing enterprise AI/ML architectures in cloud environments (Azure, AWS, GCP)
• Strong understanding of LLM ecosystems, including RAG, orchestration, and model integration patterns
• Experience with platforms such as Microsoft Foundry, AWS Bedrock, or similar AI services
• Knowledge of governance, security, and privacy frameworks within AI and data systems
• Experience designing cost-optimised, performance-driven architectures
• Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills, including executive-level storytelling
• Ability to lead across architecture, strategy, and delivery execution
