RESPONSIBILITIES:
Create detailed, accurate, and well-justified procedures per crop/ornamental plant, and livestock requirements
Create monitoring/tracking system
Generate comprehensive and adaptive reports (calendar, harvest, consumption, inventory etc.) with specified timelines
Manage inventory and consumption of materials and assets
Evaluate efficiency and resource utilization of consumption of materials and assets including farm labour
Collaborate with team to implement and evaluate farm system
Collaborate with Management to plan and execute a comprehensive agriculture and horticulture plan that meets goals
Advise farmers and team with specific instruction for carrying out plan
Efficiently coordinate sales, deliveries, and canvassing of farm materials
Coordinate with government agencies, local and international associations, suppliers, university research centers etc. on up-to-date agriculture and horticulture practices, training, and management
Responsible for sourcing or selling of products
Analyses market and initiate creative plans for agriculture and horticulture expansion that meets goals
All other items, tasks or duties that may be assigned
REQUIREMENTS:
Must be a graduate of bachelor's degree in agriculture or Agricultural Management
Certification on Good Agricultural Practices
Basic Landscaping
Strong Computer literacy and proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook etc.)
Resourceful in researching online and in-person
Knowledgeable in horticultural practices, safety procedures and greenhouse operations
Must have an interest in the science of both animals and plants
Invested in starting up and building agriculture and horticulture in the Property
Assesses market trends for agriculture and horticulture
Possess a wide local, provincial, and international network of suppliers, and contacts for farm sales and management is an asset
Applies knowledge from field-research or business experience
Conducts regular useful training for farmers and interested team members.
Passionate in vegetable and herb crops, fruit bearing, and non-fruit bearing trees, ornamental plants, and animals
Strong attention to detail
Strong organizational skills; clean and tidy
Willing and able to listen and apply learning
Self-driven; works with minimal supervision and work collaboratively with teams
Analytical and creative when problem solving; solution-oriented
