Job Description
Your tasks:
• Overall responsibility for the development and continuous improvement of company-wide diagnostics and troubleshooting strategies in After Sales for all Mover types, including the definition of standards, strategies, methods, and fault classification (electrical & mechanical)
• Design and management of diagnostic processes and systems for After Sales across the entire vehicle lifecycle – from development to global workshop deployment
• Analysis of complex fault patterns and derivation of technical solutions in close collaboration with Development, Quality Assurance, and international markets
• Specification, testing, and approval of diagnostic software, tools, and measurement systems in collaboration with IT, Engineering, and external partners
• Establishment and support of a global competence network for diagnostics and troubleshooting, including training and knowledge transfer to markets, importers, and dealer organizations
• Assessment of new vehicle technologies and E/E architectures regarding diagnosability and serviceability; integration of After-Sales requirements into development projects
• Support in escalation management of technical field failures, root cause analysis, and implementation of sustainable corrective actions
• Monitoring and continuous improvement of diagnostic performance based on relevant KPIs (e.g., “fix right first time,” workshop times, tool utilization)
Your profile:
• Completed technical degree (e.g., Automotive Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Computer Science, or equivalent)
• Several years of professional experience in vehicle diagnostics, troubleshooting, or E/E systems – ideally in the automotive industry or at an OEM/Tier 1 supplier
• Strong knowledge of modern vehicle systems and architectures, particularly CAN and Ethernet communication as well as diagnostic protocols and standards (DoCAN, UDS, ODX, DoIP)
• Familiarity with diagnostic tools and development environments (e.g., ODIS, INCA, Vector, ETAS, DCM/ODX, ASAM standards)
• Experience in establishing or advancing diagnostic concepts and strategies at system or company level
• Analytical and structured thinking, with strong problem-solving skills and technical understanding
• Excellent communication skills and experience working with interdisciplinary teams and international stakeholders
• Very good written and spoken English
