Job Description

Michigan Broadband Services is a growing provider of high-speed communications services. We are hiring Aerial Lineman to support expanding fiber network construction.

The Fiber Aerial Lineman is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of overhead fiber optic cable systems on utility poles. Work is performed outdoors at heights and across multiple job sites.

This role requires regular travel, including extended overnight stays throughout Michigan’s Upper Peninsula, as well as overtime and weekend work.

Duties and Responsibilities

Install, lash, and secure fiber optic cable on aerial structures

Perform pole transfers and strand construction

Read and interpret prints and work orders

Operate bucket trucks and climbing equipment safely

Maintain proper cable tension and sag

Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair fiber lines

Follow safety standards and PPE requirements

Complete daily production reports and work with crew members

Qualifications

Valid Class A CDL Required

1+ year of aerial or related experience preferred

Ability to work at heights and in all weather conditions

Basic knowledge of fiber installation practices

Ability to read construction prints and follow directions

Strong work ethic and reliability

Work Conditions

Outdoors; in various weather conditions

Travel required, including overnight stays

Overtime and weekend work
