Public Health Nurse Practitioner
 
Job Description 
 
* Seeking a full-time Nurse Practitioner to join the Personal Health Services Division, with a primary focus on Family Planning/Well Woman services.
 
• This role is responsible for delivering comprehensive, client-centered reproductive health care. 
• Key duties include performing physical assessments including sports/work physicals and limited acute care services, providing routine gynecological care including pelvic/breast exams and colposcopy services (training available), prescribing medications, and ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests within the scope of the clinic setting. 
• The Nurse Practitioner will also contribute to the development of clinical protocols and procedures and provide patient education on a range of health topics, including pregnancy options counseling.
• The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong clinical judgment, excellent time management, and effective organizational and communication skills. 
• A commitment to delivering high-quality, compassionate care to diverse populations is essential.
 
Minimum Qualifications
• Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing.
•  Licensed Registered Nurse with an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) License. 
• Must have an active and unencumbered license and be licensed as an APRN/NP to practice Nursing in the state of Kansas. 
• Experience in reproductive health (family planning, OB/GYN, or women’s health)
• Title X knowledge is a plus.
• Must be able to work with a diverse client population, work with multidisciplinary teams, exercise judgment and refer clients as needed. 
• Bilingual Spanish/English a plus and/or willingness to utilize interpreting services. 
• BLS certification.
