Cascade Trauma and Acute Care Surgery (CTACS) is seeking a teamwork-oriented, experienced, and adaptable Advanced Practice Provider (ARNP or PA-C) who thrives in a dynamic workplace, to join our cohesive group of APPs and Surgeons in providing outstanding care to the ACS and Trauma patients of Tacoma General Hospital.
CTACS is a premier group of surgeons and advanced practice providers specializing in Trauma Surgery, Surgical Critical Care, and Acute Care Surgery (emergency general surgery). CTACS is 100% physician owned and was established in 2024 in collaboration with MultiCare Tacoma General Hospital and Washington Emergency Care Physicians. Our mission is to deliver top-tier care at one of the South Puget Sound region’s busiest tertiary referral centers. Committed to excellence, our surgeons hold double board certification in General Surgery and Surgical Critical Care, and our Advanced Practice Providers bring extensive clinical expertise. We aim to continually advance the practice of surgery and trauma and never accept the status quo. Our ideal candidate has the desire to practice at the top of their licensed qualifications.
Qualifications:
2 years of Trauma, Surgical Critical Care, and OR experience (candidates who possess a portion of these requirements may be considered.
Current Washington state license (or ability to obtain)
Current Washington DEA registration (or ability to obtain)
Job Duties:
Provide comprehensive care to ACS and trauma patients in collaboration with attending physicians
Autonomously performs specialized patient procedures: Intubation, ventilatory management, arterial line placement, central venous catheter placement, chest tube insertion, conscious sedation, joint reduction, laceration repairs, POCUS
First assist with a wide range of surgical procedures: laparoscopic/open, rib fixation, robotic assisted laparoscopic operations
Assist in the evaluation, diagnosis, and management of acute care surgical patients, including those requiring emergency surgical intervention.
Coordinate and participate in patient rounds, providing updates on patient status, treatment plans, and discharge planning.
Conduct thorough assessments and develop individualized care plans for patients admitted to the ICU, PCU, and med/surg floors, ensuring continuity of care and optimal patient outcomes.
Collaborate with rotating surgical residents, students, nursing staff, case managers, and other allied health professionals to facilitate efficient patient flow and transitions of care.
Provide continuity of care in the managing trauma and acute care surgical patients in clinic
Participate in trauma and acute care surgery quality improvement initiatives, including M&M reviews
Provide education and support to patients and their families regarding their medical conditions, treatment options, and post-discharge care instructions.
Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient encounters, procedures, and treatment plans in the electronic medical record system.
Providing mentorship to incoming employees as a part of our onboarding program
Demonstrate a commitment to professional growth and development through ongoing education, training, and participation in departmental activities.

Tiered compensation package based on experience and qualifications ($71.25-$94.44 hourly / $133,380-$176,791 annually) + Quarterly patient experience/RVU performance incentive bonus potential after 1 year

Location:
CTACS offers services exclusively through MultiCare Tacoma General Hospital. Located in the beautiful Pacific Northwest, Tacoma is the heart of the Puget Sound Metropolitan area. The city itself rests on the shores of Commencement Bay and the Puget Sound and between the Olympic and Cascade Mountain ranges. This allows for easy access to skiing, hiking, boating, fishing, and a multitude of other outdoor activities. Tacoma is within a few hours of some of the world’s best wineries.
Schedule:
Full-time employment is thirteen 12-hour shifts each month. Coverage is 24/7 rotating day/night shifts, including weekends, and rotating holidays.
