Seasonal | Starting Pay: $20/hr | 6–18 hrs/week, Weeknights 5-11pm, plus some weekends and special events

Be the go-to person for preparing fields, checking rosters and bats, and ensuring our softball leagues hit a home run every night.

What You’ll Do
Field Preparation: Drag, stripe, and level fields; maintain bleachers, dugouts, and equipment.
Game Supervision: Assist umpires with roster checks, rules, and bat inspections; oversee scorecards and general gameplay.
Safety & Cleanliness: Conduct regular safety checks, keep facilities clean, and maintain field materials inventory.
Leadership: Train and supervise part-time staff and uphold Park District standards, ensuring a fun, safe environment.
Customer Service: Interact with teams, address questions/concerns, and promote a positive, community-centric experience.
What It Takes
Experience & Education: High school diploma (or equivalent) plus 2+ years in landscaping, groundskeeping, or athletic field maintenance. Must be 21 years of age or older.
Softball Savvy: Familiarity with adult softball league operations and rules is preferred.
Skills: Strong communication, leadership, and time-management skills; comfortable working independently.
Licenses & Certifications: CPR, AED, First Aid, Umpire & BASSET certifications (preferred, or willingness to obtain). Valid driver's license.
Team Player: Cooperative mindset, strong customer service focus, and dedication to the Crystal Lake Park District’s mission.
