Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Adult Acute Speech and Language Therapist (SALT) to join a dynamic hospital team based at Charing Cross Hospital, London. This role involves delivering high-quality assessment and intervention for adults within an acute clinical setting, supporting patients with a range of communication and swallowing difficulties.

You will work as part of a fast-paced, multi-disciplinary environment, contributing specialist knowledge to support safe and effective patient care. This role is suitable for Band 6 or Band 7 therapists with experience in acute care, dysphagia management, and complex adult caseloads.

Key Responsibilities

In this role, you will:• Assess, diagnose, and manage adults with communication and swallowing disorders in an acute hospital setting.• Provide evidence-based interventions and treatment plans tailored to individual patient needs.• Work collaboratively with MDT teams including nursing, medical staff, dietitians, and AHP colleagues.• Maintain accurate, timely clinical documentation in line with HCPC and professional standards.• Participate in discharge planning and contribute to patient flow and safety.• Support service development and quality improvement initiatives where appropriate.

Qualifications and Experience

To be considered for this role, you must have:• A recognised degree in Speech and Language Therapy (or equivalent).• HCPC registration and eligibility for RCSLT membership.• Experience working within acute adult services (Band 6/7 level).• Competence in dysphagia assessment and management.• Strong communication, teamwork, and organisational skills.
