New Day Recovery is expanding! To better assist our community we now offer 24/7 admissions and are looking for a spirited and compassionate addition to our admissions team. This position works M-F 5p-11p and weekends. The Admissions Coordinator coordinates the admissions process of clients to our inpatient detox program and facilities by maintaining admitting guidelines; obtaining applicant information; screening applicants; completing admissions process; resolving patient issues. This is a non-exempt position with hours and schedule established to complete required duties. This position is “non-exempt” from wage and hour regulations, as defined by the U.S. Department of Labor.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Maintains admission guidelines.
Obtains applicant information and medical information and inputs to the designated system; verifying and clarifying information; interviewing patients and family members; explaining admission criteria.
Screens patients by comparing patient's condition to admission criteria; evaluating and accepting or rejecting patients; referring patients and family to other programs and institutions.
Admits patients by completing admission and financial responsibility forms; coordinating and arranging physical, social, emotional, and support service requirements, including transportation.
Prepares admissions reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data and trends.
Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks.
Enhances organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments
Protects organization reputation by keeping information confidential.
Performs other duties as deemed necessary and appropriate by supervisor.

Medical Assistant Certification preferred
