Ensure systems availability and completion of critical systems processing through the ongoing monitoring and management of systems availability and performance and the execution of critical processing. Detect, analyse and resolve any fault or degradation in systems performance to ensure quality service delivery to all users as per agreed service levels.
• Honours or Bachelor’s Degree in Information Studies or related field
 
Experience:
• 1-2 years knowledge of general Desktop and Printer support issues redundant/out of service as well as the implementation and monitoring of security protocols (firewalls, user management). They also install, configure and maintain platforms and operating systems on which applications have to run. Is accountable for engaging with business and end users. It comprises helpdesk functions, field service and IT engagement functions that take accountability for the overall service delivery to business.
• 3-4 years experience design, develop, test and maintain the bank's proprietary technology applications as well as those leased or purchased from third parties. It includes analysing functional requirements, translating system requirements into applications prototypes, writing and maintaining code, determining output and user interfaces as well as testing and maintaining programming documentation. Monitor adherence to change and run SLAs.
Key Responsibilities:
• Analyse batch runtimes to inform decision making with regard to system fine tuning or related changes.
• Assist with the Installation, configuration and maintenance of systems.
• Attend to system issues by detecting, analysing and resolving system errors or failures.
• Check that all incidents are logged with the appropriate criticality ratings.
• Check that retired or recycled hardware such as Back tapes are decommissioned or cleaned using approved disk wipe tools.
• Document computer problems and resolutions for future reference.
• Engage with the Support teams or third party providers to drive resolution to incidents.
• Ensure system availability at all times and ensure that any problems are resolved expeditiously.
• Ensure that reports and statements are produced promptly and ready for distribution to Departments and Branches within SLA.
• Escalate issues to the respective technical high support level if unable to resolve.
• Execute and ensure successful completion of EOD/SOD operations of the bank systems.
• Execute and ensure successful completion of Intraday batch operations by monitoring, detecting, analysing and resolving batch job.
