The City of Presque Isle Public Works Department is seeking a reliable and organized Administrative Assistant to provide clerical and administrative support to department staff. This position plays a key role in supporting daily operations related to infrastructure, maintenance, and municipal services.
Key Responsibilities
Provide administrative support to Public Works management and staff
Answer and direct phone calls, emails, and public inquiries
Prepare correspondence, reports, work orders, and meeting minutes
Maintain filing systems, records, and databases
Assist with scheduling, purchasing, and tracking work orders
Process invoices, timesheets, and basic financial documentation
Coordinate communication between the department, other municipal departments, contractors, and the public
Perform other related duties as assigned
Qualifications & Skills
High school diploma or equivalent (post-secondary training in office administration is an asset)
Previous administrative or clerical experience, preferably in a municipal or public-sector environment
Strong organizational and time-management skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and office equipment
Ability to work independently and maintain confidentiality
Customer service–oriented with a professional and courteous manner
