New River Community and Technical College is seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Adjunct Faculty member in Phlebotomy to help prepare students for entry-level careers in the healthcare field. This role is ideal for a skilled professional who is passionate about teaching and mentoring the next generation of phlebotomists.
Position Overview
The Adjunct Faculty member will provide didactic and hands-on laboratory instruction in Principles of Phlebotomy. Courses are delivered at the Greenbrier Valley and Nicholas County Campus and may include in-person, online, Zoom, or Interactive
Adjunct faculty play a vital role as educators, mentors, and collaborators, contributing to student success and workforce readiness.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver engaging classroom and laboratory instruction in phlebotomy
Teach venipuncture and capillary puncture techniques effectively
Evaluate student performance and maintain accurate academic records
Provide timely, constructive feedback to support student growth
Coordinate clinical rotations with program leadership and healthcare partners
Ensure compliance with college policies and safety standards
Utilize technology to support in-person and virtual learning environments
Maintain regular communication with students and faculty
Participate in department meetings and required college activities
Complete course assessments and reporting requirements on time
What We’re Looking For
Required Qualifications:
Current national certification in one of the following:
Phlebotomy or Medical Laboratory Science/Technology
Medical Assistant, LPN, or RN
Associate’s degree (or higher) in an allied health or related field
Minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience performing venipuncture and capillary puncture
Preferred Qualifications:
Teaching experience in higher education
Experience with Zoom, IVN, or online instruction
Familiarity with instructional technology (e.g., Microsoft Word, learning platforms)
Experience with dual enrollment programs
Skills & Attributes
