Summary:
The Ad Operations Manager will own the technical activation and measurement foundation for paid media across the business. This role is responsible for tag implementation, platform integrations, campaign quality assurance and customer data enablement across digital channels.
Working closely with Paid Media, Web, Analytics and Technology teams, the Ad Ops Manager will ensure accurate tracking, reliable data flow and scalable solutions that support full-funnel measurement, first-party data activation and future marketing technology development.
This role will play a critical part in completing key tracking and data projects while establishing best-practice operational standards across global and regional campaigns.
Key Responsibilities:
Ad Operations & Measurement:
Manage and audit tag management integrations across platforms, spanning across event marketing campaigns, lead generation activity and supporting the delivery of partner monetisation across SailGP-owned inventory
Implement and maintain tracking across platforms including (but not limited to):
Meta
Google Ads
TikTok
Google Analytics (GA)
Google Tag Manager
Programmatic DSPs e.g. DV360 / StackAdapt
Customer Data Platforms (CDPs)
Provide end-to-end support for:
Tag implementation and pixel deployment
QA testing and validation
Troubleshooting delivery or tracking issues
Post-launch verification and optimisation support throughout delivery
Deliver implementation of:
Server-side tagging across core marketing platforms
Conversion APIs (CAPI) to future-proof measurement
Event tracking within Google Analytics and 3rd party partner integrations
Support the enrichment of analytics, platform and audience data, enabling automation and cohesive data onboarding
Partner with Technology teams to identify approaches for activating first-party customer data in ad and CRM platforms, with a desire to move to a full CDP implementation
Provide internal and external technical support for campaign related issues, site projects and platforms
Proactively identify delivery risks or underperformance as related to tracking, to then provide solutions and resolve concerns
Governance and Future Readiness:
Create and maintain clear documentation for tagging frameworks, platforms and 3rd party integrations data flows
Provide clear project plans and delivery schedules
Proactively identify delivery risks, data gaps or performance anomalies and recommend solutions.
Identify and share best practices across Marketing, Technology and Fan Engagement teams
Contribute to regional and global operational initiatives supporting paid media success and scalability
Ensure adherence to privacy requirements and consent frameworks across all implementations
Support future-proofing of marketing tech stack and maintain strong understanding of emerging industry solutions, platform changes and sandbox environments

About You:
5+ years’ experience in ad operations, ad tech, programmatic or digital monetisation environment (publisher, agency, platform or supply-side).
Strong grounding in digital advertising fundamentals, including:
Core paid advertising platforms across Search, Social & Programmatic
Technical knowledge of ad tracking, pixels and tag management systems
Full-funnel advertising and media measurement
Experienced across ad serving and video delivery technologies, such as Google Campaign Manager, VAST and CTV advertising ecosystems, with a strong understanding of first party data activation and data-driven advertising strategies.
Comfortable operating in a growth environment: you'll help shape processes and tooling rather than simply follow established routines
Ability to translate technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
Highly detail-oriented with a strong appreciation for data accuracy and validation.
Strong organisational and project management skills, with the ability to prioritise multiple workstreams simultaneously.
Able to communicate confidently and adapt communication style according to the needs of the stakeholder
Able to work independently, but values working collaboratively as part of a team
Works effectively and enjoys a fast-paced, start-up environment
