About the Division:

This role forms part of the Actuarial & Insurance Solutions (AIS) team. AIS is a specialist actuarial and insurance consulting practice with deep expertise in:

• Life insurance (Long-Term Insurance)
• Non-life insurance (General Insurance/Short-Term Insurance)

Within AIS, we focus on addressing complex business challenges by applying advanced actuarial techniques, analytics and industry insights. We deliver a comprehensive range of specialised actuarial and risk services to clients across the insurance and reinsurance sectors in South Africa, the broader African continent, the Middle East, Asia, Australia, Europe, and the United States.

As part of our team, you will gain hands-on experience working on projects with clear guidance and mentorship from senior members of the team on allocated assignments undertaken.

The details of this would be:

• Running and implementing project-based work
• Collaborating with teams to drive project success and ensure alignment
• Reporting on progress of work to management and clients
• Engaging with clients to understand their needs, challenges and demands
• Managing of deadlines and reporting
• Identifying opportunities to improve engagement success and profitability.

 

We require a degree in Actuarial Sciences (postgraduate qualification in Actuarial science preferred)

• An academic average of 65% and above
• A minimum of at least 5 exemptions

Technical Competencies

• Knowledge and experience in MS Office 
• Mathematical and statistical methods and analysis

Behavioral Competencies

• Strong verbal and written communication skills, with a professional and confident client-facing presence
• Results-driven with a conscientious and proactive approach to service delivery
• Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively and meet deadlines
• Analytical mindset with lateral thinking and problem-solving skills
• Organised, detail-orientated and eager to learn and grow

 

Successful candidates will be based at our Johannesburg or Cape Town offices
