We're looking for an  Actuarial Analyst, Capital 

Based in our London office and reporting into the Head of Capital, this role will support the expansion of Hamilton’s capital modelling and investment risk functions.

 

The capital team is well-integrated into the wider business, leveraging its modelling and data to play a key role in many areas, for example its modelling is used to inform reinsurance purchases, as well as investment risk and capital allocation decisions at Group-level. This ensures there are always interesting projects to work on outside of the regulatory deliverables to Lloyd’s and the Central Bank of Ireland.

 

Hamilton Global Speciality is our multi-platform, speciality insurer operating primarily through a Lloyds Syndicate and Dublin Operating company with a managing general agency in the US.

What you will do

Maintain and develop entity capital models, working across all risk categories. The role would primarily focus on the Igloo internal model for our Lloyd’s syndicate S4000 and the Standard Formula for our Irish entity

Support the validation process to Lloyd’s, liaising with external consulting actuaries where necessary in support of this

Contribute to model use, such as presenting analysis on reinsurance to the Ceded Reinsurance function to inform purchase decisions

Help develop investment risk modelling to support the Group investment risk framework which is run by the capital team in London

Keep abreast of developments in the capital modelling and risk fields

Liaise with the profession on the market and other issues related to capital and planning

What you require for the role

 

Experience in a general insurance actuarial role or equivalent

Desire to build a career as a General Insurance actuary

Strong written and verbal communication skills

Ability to produce clear, well‑structured reports

Exceptional attention to detail

Background in capital model development

Open, innovative and inclusive approach to work, contributing positively to team culture and problem‑solving

Desirable

Experience using Igloo software

Ability to present actuarial findings and insights to stakeholders
