Summary of Essential Job Functions:
Maintains and updates resident activities ensuring accuracy of daily schedule, class and time
Assist in the planning, leading and scheduling the events for resident activities
In cooperation with resident treatment team, coordinates activities with residents to provide a constantly safe and therapeutic environment
Facilitates and enhances therapeutic treatment and quality of life through promotion and coordination of teamwork
Provides and coordinates age and comprehension –appropriate programs to individual residents and groups to improve or maintain physical functioning and social interaction skills
Observes and documents pertinent information regarding residents’ condition and treatment progress
Attends appropriate meetings to contribute information and progress reports for use in treatment team planning for residents
Uses a variety of resources to implement recreation, relaxation, arts, music, yoga, adult living skills
Completes an individual activity assessment weekly of each patient
Planning and executing a variety of resident activities on a daily basis
To consult with each resident in order to identify their social and recreational requirements according to their likes/dislikes, abilities and personal preferences.
To ensure the social care plan for each resident is in place within 3 days from the date of admission and it is kept up to date and regularly reviewed.
To ensure that all residents receive some form of social activity each week.
Reports to licensed supervisor
Minimum Requirements:
Must have high school diploma or equivalency
Must have experience in the treatment and care of men and women who have mental health, substance abuse or trauma related issues.
