Summary:
Directs and supervises the work activities of 10 full-time employees in the following departments: Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable and Payroll.
Core Responsibilities:
(1) Oversees accounts receivable function to ensure timeliness and accuracy of franchisee billings, interest calculation and billing on outstanding notes, and cash applications. Coordinates annual financial product rebates, facilitate collection efforts including reconciliation of auto-deduct process and assist in determining quarterly reserve for bad debts allowance.
(2) Oversees the accounts payable function to drive efficiency in processing cycle, minimize late payment fees and approve all payments to be processed during weekly check runs. Conduct random audits to ensure employee T&E reports are submitted in accordance with Company policy; supervise vendor 1099 process.
(3) Oversees payroll function to ensure accurate and timely processing and disbursement; ensures all payroll taxes and related reports are filed with appropriate governmental agencies.
(4) Review and approve monthly journal entries and account reconciliations.
(5) Review and approve all business personal property tax and sales & use tax invoices.
(6) Review established work practices and procedures, recommend improvements, and oversee implementation of changes where applicable.
(7) Assists in the maintenance of required documentation for Sarbanes-Oxley compliance, including remediation of control weaknesses and ensuring compliance with policies and procedures.
(8) Instructs and trains employees in the performance of their duties to ensure competency; counsels employees effectively; plans for succession of key employees.
(9) Assist with general accounting related activities in connection with the book close.
(10) Performs other duties as required.
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting
Certified Public Accountant (desired)
• 5+ years related work experience
• Accounting operations experience a plus
• Exceptional organization and teamwork skills
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Proficient Excel skills; experience with Oracle Financials System
$80K to $90K plus bonus
