Salary: $17.60 per hour
Job Summary:
Community Healthcaring Kitchener- Waterloo is excited to offer a Canada Summer Jobs (CSJ) position for an Accounting Technician Student to join our finance team for the summer season. This paid opportunity is designed to provide students with valuable work experience in accounting and finance. As part of our team, you'll gain hands-on experience in financial reporting, account reconciliation, data entry, and more, while working in a supportive and dynamic environment. Community Healthcaring Kitchener-Waterloo is committed to offering a safe and supportive environment, with strong supervision and mentorship for students.
Responsibilities:
Provide support for a range of financial and business initiatives.
Prepare, verify, process and reconcile financial data.
Support staff in developing reports, spreadsheets and other business/financial documents.
Prepare and organize correspondence, perform data entry and word processing functions.
Accounts payable & receivable support – assist in processing invoices, tracking payments and maintaining records for both accounts payable and receivable.
Plan, organize, coordinate and manage daily assigned work.
Inventory management.
Accurately input financial data into accounting software, ensuring completeness and correctness of records.
Assist with payroll, entering payroll information and updating employee records.
Assist and support the Team as required.
Other duties may be assigned.
Eligibility Requirements:
To be eligible for the Canada Summer Jobs program, candidates must meet the following criteria:
Be between the ages of 15 and 30 at the start of the employment period.
Be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or have refugee status in Canada.
Be enrolled in a full-time post-secondary program (undergraduate, graduate, or diploma) in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial/territorial legislation and regulations.
Qualifications:
Experience with Microsoft Office and other related office software.
Possess excellent organization and problem-solving skills.
Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work with a team and independently.
Strong interest in Community Health.
Additional Information:
This is a Canada Summer Jobs funded position, specifically for students looking to gain work experience during the summer months.
The position is 35 hours a week for a April 27th- August 21st, 2026
The role will provide mentorship, strong supervision plan & hands-on experience, and the opportunity to enhance skills in the accounting and finance field.
