Position Overview:

The Accounting Specialist supports the day-to-day financial operations of the organization by performing a variety of accounting and financial tasks. This role is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, assisting with month-end close processes, and supporting accounts payable and receivable functions. The ideal candidate has strong attention to detail, solid accounting knowledge, and experience working with accounting systems, preferably Sage Intacct.

Key Responsibilities

• Process and maintain accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions

• Assist with monthly, quarterly, and year-end close activities

• Prepare and reconcile general ledger accounts and bank statements

• Enter and review financial data to ensure accuracy and completeness

• Assist with preparation of financial reports and supporting documentation

• Maintain organized financial records and documentation in accordance with company policies

• Support internal and external audit processes by providing requested documentation

• Monitor and resolve discrepancies in financial records and transactions

• Assist with expense tracking, vendor management, and invoice processing

• Collaborate with internal departments to ensure accurate financial reporting

Qualifications

• Associate’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance preferred

• Minimum of 2 years of accounting experience

• Experience with Sage Intacct strongly preferred

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications

• Strong understanding of basic accounting principles and financial reporting

• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail

• Strong communication and problem-solving abilities

• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment

Preferred Skills

• Experience working with ERP accounting systems, particularly Sage Intacct

• Knowledge of GAAP principles

• Experience assisting with financial audits or month-end close processes
