Accounting Operations Specialist

Location: Pune, India

working shifts : EST shift

Position Summary

As an Accounting Operations Specialist at HackerOne, you will support our global finance operations from Pune, with an initial focus on Accounts Payable while partnering with teams in the US and UK to support broader accounting and close-related processes. You will ensure vendors are paid accurately, expense reports are reviewed timely, and support accounting close, accruals, and other operational workflows as the function scales. This role will be a Remote first role and required to work US EST hours in order to timely support our global vendors and employees.

In this role, you will help scale reliable, compliant financial processes that support HackerOne’s growth and mission. You will gain hands-on experience in a SaaS environment, work with best-in-class finance systems, and contribute to the operational excellence that enables our teams to focus on securing the internet.

What You Will Do

• Manage end-to-end Accounts Payable operations, including invoice intake, approvals, issue resolution, and processing using Workday and Zip

• Process vendor invoices and employee expense reports accurately and timely, ensuring compliance with internal policies

• Perform 3-way matching and validate invoices and payments against purchase orders

• Prepare and execute weekly payment runs for global vendors

• Support month-end close activities related to Accounts Payable, expenses, and related accruals

• Assist with AP subledger to general ledger reconciliations and investigate variances

• Assist with journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and variance analysis as assigned

• Respond to vendor and internal stakeholder inquiries within defined service-level agreements (SLAs)

• Partner with other members of the Accounting team on process improvements and scaling accounting operations workflows

• Assist with other accounting operations responsibilities as needed

• Maintain documentation and ensure compliance with SOX and internal controls

Minimum Qualifications

• 2–3 years of hands-on Accounts Payable and/or Accounting Operations experience in a global company

• Proficiency using ERP, Accounts Payable, and/or Procurement systems for invoice and payment processing

• Demonstrated accuracy in invoice processing, reconciliations, and data validation

• Exposure to month-end close activities, including accruals and account reconciliations

• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English, with the ability to partner effectively with global stakeholders

• Must be able to work US based EST hours

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior experience using Workday and Zip

• Experience supporting US-based finance teams across time zones

• Exposure to SOX and maintaining audit support

• Advanced Excel skills (lookups, pivots, reconciliations)
