Lunacon Construction Group is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accountant to join our team in-office. Position Summary
The Accountant plays a critical role in supporting the financial health of our construction projects and company operations. This position is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, tracking project costs, supporting month-end close, and delivering timely financial reporting.
This is an in-office role, working closely with project managers, estimators, and leadership to support real-time decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare and analyze financial statements, job cost reports, and project performance data
Maintain accurate accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger entries
Support month-end and year-end close processes, including reconciliations and accruals
Process subcontractor pay applications and ensure compliance with lien releases and billing deadlines
Assist with cash flow projections, budget tracking, and financial forecasting
Monitor financial activity for accuracy and compliance with company policies
Collaborate cross-functionally to support project financial performance
Prepare reports for bonding, audits, and banking requirements
Qualifications
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required
CPA or pursuit of CPA is a plus
Experience
5+ years of accounting experience required
Construction accounting experience strongly preferred
Experience with government contracts is a plus
Familiarity with Viewpoint, Sage, or Trimble preferred
Skills and Competencies
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel
Knowledge of GAAP and construction accounting principles
Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus
Work Environment
This is a full-time, in-office position
Minimal travel may be required for project audits or meetings
