MezTal is a nearshore shared services company based in Guadalajara, Mexico, supporting U.S.-based organizations with high-quality talent.
We are currently hiring an Accounting Manager to support a U.S.-based company within the Senior Living industry. This role will be responsible for leading general accounting operations, ensuring compliance with U.S. GAAP, and managing a team in a fast-paced environment.
This position is being actively scoped, so we are building a strong pipeline of candidates who can bring both technical expertise and leadership capabilities.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing accounting team.
• Oversee general ledger activities, including month-end and year-end close processes.
• Ensure accurate financial reporting in compliance with U.S. GAAP.
• Prepare, review, and analyze financial statements, budgets, and forecasts.
• Ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting policies, and applicable regulations.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and U.S.-based stakeholders.
• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
• Manage external audit processes and ensure timely completion.
• Utilize advanced Excel skills for data analysis and reporting.
• Partner with leadership on strategic initiatives and special projects.
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA preferred).
• 8+ years of progressive accounting experience, including 3+ years in leadership.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP.
• Proven experience managing and developing teams.
• Advanced Excel proficiency (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, complex formulas).
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Advanced English proficiency (required).
• High level of ownership and ability to work independently.
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience in Senior Living (highly preferred).
• Experience with Yardi (highly preferred).
• Background in industries such as Real Estate, Hospitality, or Healthcare.
