The Accounting Manager is responsible for oversight of the accounting functions for factoring operations, including management of the other accounting staff. This position will ensure that Generally Accepted Accounting Principles, internal controls, and accounting and company processes are followed efficiently and effectively. Your role will interface between executive management, governmental agencies, staff, customers, and vendors. Additionally, this individual will play a key role in compiling financial statements, job analysis for executive management. The position reports to the Controller.
Duties and Responsibilities
Oversee daily accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and payroll
Manage the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes to ensure timely and accurate financial statements
Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting documentation
Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal financial policies and procedures
Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy
Supervise and mentor accounting staff, fostering professional growth and development
Collaborate with other departments to provide financial insights and support decision-making
Skills and Specifications
Advanced knowledge and use of QuickBooks, specifically Contractor Edition
Advanced Excel skills required; Power BI skills a plus
Accuracy and attention to detail
Excellent communication (written/oral) and interpersonal skills with the ability to interface comfortably at all levels, both internally and externally
Excellent quantitative, analytic, and deductive reasoning capabilities
Ability to think strategically and act proactively
Self-starter with the ability to work under pressure independently and as part of a team
Education and Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance.
7+ Years of general ledger account experience
5+ Years Supervisory experience managing staff and processes
Multi-state Tax knowledge
