ACCOUNTING MANAGER / CONTROLLER (FULL-TIME)
Position Summary
Paradigm Design is seeking a hands-on Accounting Manager / Controller to lead the accounting function while remaining actively involved in day-to-day operations. This role will oversee all accounting activities, support financial decision-making, and play a key role in strengthening processes during a department transition.
This position is ideal for someone who enjoys both leading and executing—bringing structure, visibility, and consistency to a growing professional services firm.
Key Responsibilities
Accounting Leadership & Operations
Oversee general ledger and full-cycle accounting processes
Provide oversight of accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, offering hands-on support as needed
Ensure accuracy and timeliness of financial data and reporting
Payroll & Compliance
Oversee payroll processes, including review and final approval
Ensure compliance with payroll tax filings and regulatory requirements
Coordinate workers’ compensation audits and related reporting
Cash & Financial Management
Monitor company cash flow and maintain cash management reporting
Support company budgeting and financial planning processes
Assist in implementation and oversight of project budget management
Financial Reporting & Analysis
Prepare monthly and quarterly financial statements
Develop board-level reporting and financial insights
Track key financial metrics, including profitability and EBITDA
Manage fixed assets and depreciation schedules
Conduct overhead and cost analysis
Tax & Strategic Support
Coordinate with external CPA on tax filings and strategy
Support R&D tax credit documentation and reporting
Project Accounting
Support project-based financial tracking, including job cost and labor reporting
Partner with project managers on financial performance and billing practices
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
5–10+ years of progressive accounting experience
Experience with Deltek Ajera preferred
Experience in professional services or project-based environment preferred
Strong understanding of financial reporting, cash management, and job costing
Ability to operate independently and improve processes
Proficiency in accounting systems and Excel
