Position Summary
As an Accounting & Finance Associate (Accounts Payable) , you will play a key role in supporting and executing daily accounts payable operations and ensuring tax compliance at FlexCar's headquarters. Your responsibilities will focus on invoice processing, supplier payments, VAT monitoring, and supporting statutory reporting. You will collaborate closely with internal teams and external partners to ensure accurate financial records and full compliance with Greek tax regulations.
Responsibilities
• Process, verify, and record supplier invoices in the accounting system (AP).
• Execute and monitor supplier payments, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
• Perform vendor account reconciliations and resolve discrepancies.
• Review and track bank transactions related to payables.
• Ensure proper classification of expenses in line with accounting and tax rules.
• Support VAT calculations, filings, and reconciliations in compliance with Greek tax regulations.
• Assist in the preparation and submission of statutory tax reports.
• Maintain proper documentation for tax audits and compliance checks.
• Reconcile AP subledger with the general ledger on a regular basis.
• Monitor withholding taxes and ensure correct application where applicable.
• Participate in month-end closing processes related to AP and tax accounts.
• Support ad hoc tax and accounting projects.
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in Accounts Payable and/or Tax, preferably in a corporate or Big 4 environment.
• Strong knowledge of invoice processing, vendor reconciliations, and payment cycles.
• Solid understanding of Greek tax legislation, including VAT and withholding taxes.
• Experience supporting VAT returns and tax reporting processes.
• Familiarity with ERP/accounting systems.
• High attention to detail and accuracy in financial data.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines.
• Excellent communication skills in Greek & English (written and verbal).
