We are looking for a strategic and hands-on Accounting Director who thrives in a fast-paced startup environment working with U.S. clients. This role is ideal for a leader who is highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of balancing high-level oversight with operational execution in a growing company.

In a startup setting, accounting leadership requires both vision and ownership. The right candidate will be someone who can manage multiple priorities, lead and mentor a team, and ensure the integrity of financial operations while actively contributing to key accounting processes. You will play a critical role in shaping accounting strategy, strengthening financial controls, and supporting business growth.

You will be responsible for overseeing accurate financial reporting, ensuring compliance with U.S. accounting standards, and driving continuous improvement in accounting processes and systems.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee and lead the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes
• Review and approve journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial statements
• Ensure the integrity of the general ledger and all supporting schedules
• Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, ensuring efficiency and accuracy
• Establish and maintain strong internal controls and accounting policies
• Lead the preparation of monthly and periodic financial reports for leadership
• Provide financial insights and analysis to support strategic decision-making
• Manage audit processes and ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP and regulatory requirements
• Partner cross-functionally with finance, operations, and leadership teams
• Drive improvements in accounting systems, processes, and workflows
• Build, mentor, and develop a high-performing accounting team
• Operate effectively in a fast-paced, high-growth startup environment


Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• 8–10+ years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership roles
• Strong experience supporting U.S. companies or U.S. clients
• Proven experience in a startup or high-growth environment
• Deep expertise in end-to-end accounting processes and financial reporting
• Advanced proficiency in Excel and accounting systems (QuickBooks, NetSuite, Xero, or similar)
• CPA or equivalent certification
• Experience with ERP implementations or accounting system upgrades
• Experience working with remote or international teams
