Accounting Clerk-Full-Time-Hybrid Remote
**Required: Candidates must reside in Washington State or be willing to relocate to Washington prior to start date.
Who We Are
The Rural Health Enterprise (RHE) is an innovative subsidiary of The Rural Collaborative, owned collectively by 25 rural hospitals across Washington State. We support rural healthcare sustainability through collaboration and value-based services.
We are seeking a detail-oriented Accounting Clerk to support our financial operations and help strengthen rural healthcare organizations across the state.
Position Summary
This is a full-time, 40-hour-per-week remote position with occasional travel within Washington State. The Accounting Clerk supports accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general accounting functions to ensure accurate financial records, timely payments, and compliance with organizational policies.
Key Responsibilities
Process AP/AR transactions and payment runs
Prepare customer invoices and post payments
Maintain vendor records and assist with 1099 preparation
Monitor aging reports and follow up on outstanding balances
Assist with reconciliations, journal entries, and monthly close
Support audits, budgeting, payroll support, and financial reporting
Maintain accurate financial records and internal controls
Perform additional accounting and administrative duties as assigned
Qualifications
Associate degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
Minimum 2 years of accounting or bookkeeping experience
Experience with QuickBooks, Sage 50, or similar software
Intermediate Excel skills
Strong attention to detail, organization, and communication skills
Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism
Additional Requirements
Must be a Washington State resident or planning to relocate to Washington State
Reliable transportation and ability to attend occasional in-person meetings throughout Washington State
Valid driver’s license and required automobile insurance if using a personal vehicle
