The Accounting Clerk is responsible for reviewing and preparing invoices for payment, ensuring accuracy and compliance, and processing them through ERP systems such as Viewpoint. This role is also responsible for vendor statement and bank account reconciliations, maintaining customer records, assisting with month-end close, and reconciling key general ledger accounts such as prepaids, accruals, and fixed assets. Additional duties include supporting external and internal audits, assisting with the preparation of financial statements and sales tax, maintaining fixed asset records, inputting material sales tickets, and providing cross-training and backup support for other accounting roles.

Roles and Responsibilities:

Review and prepare invoices for payment, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
Validate invoices and process them in Viewpoint.
Conduct periodic vendor statement and bank account reconciliations.
Maintain customer records.
Reconcile key general ledger accounts such as prepaids, accruals, intercompany transactions, and fixed assets.
Prepare sales tax filing
Assist with month-end close for areas of responsibility.
Support external and internal audits.
Assist with monthly financial statement preparation.
Maintain fixed asset records.
Provide cross-training and serve as backup support for other roles as needed.
Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned by supervisors.
Skills and Qualifications:
Currently enrolled in an accredited bachelor’s degree program, or recently completed, in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field. An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel and Word.
Prior experience using Viewpoint (Vista) or COINS is a plus.
Must be able to work independently with the ability to manage multiple high-priority tasks.
Strong attention to detail.
Ability to work creatively and analytically in a problem-solving environment.
Physical Requirements:
Able to sit, type, and perform computer work for extended periods of time.
Frequent use of hands and fingers for computer entry.
Able to see, talk, hear, stand, and walk.
Able to perform occasional bending, lifting, and reaching.
Occasionally lift up to 25 pounds.
