Accountant

Here at The Exploration Company, we are developing, producing, and operating Nyx, a modular and reusable space orbital vehicle that can eventually be refuelled in orbit and that can carry cargo - and potentially humans in the longer run.

Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented Accountant based in Munich to manage daily financial transactions and ensure accurate record-keeping. The role involves handling routine accounting tasks, maintaining financial records, and supporting month-end processes for multiple entities across Germany, United States, Italy and other European jurisdictions.

Key Responsibilities:

· Record daily financial transactions, including sales, purchases, receipts, and payments

· Maintain and update general ledger accounts

· Process accounts payable and accounts receivable

· Reconcile bank statements and company accounts regularly

· Prepare and post journal entries

· Monitor cash flow and report any discrepancies

· Assist with payroll processing and expense tracking

· Generate daily and weekly financial reports

· Ensure compliance with company policies and financial regulations

· Support month-end and year-end closing activities

· Maintain organized financial documentation and filing systems

Required Skills and Qualifications:

· Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

· Strong knowledge of accounting principles (e.g., GAAP or IFRS)

· Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Odoo, QuickBooks, Xero, or SAP)

· Strong attention to detail and accuracy

· Good numerical and analytical skills

· Ability to manage time and meet deadlines

· Proficiency in Microsoft Excel

· Fluent English and German required; additional European languages are an advantage.

Preferred Qualifications:

· Previous experience in a similar accounting role

Working Conditions:

· Office-based 3 days a week
