This role is ideal for a candidate who takes accountability for their work, is curious about why things look the way they do, and raises potential issues early, before they become problems.
The Role
Client File Support & Accounting

Prepare organized, high-quality working papers to support year-end file readiness
Assist with the preparation of financial statements and related schedules under ASPE
Monitor files for unusual items, inconsistencies, or missing information and escalate issues appropriately
Collaboration & Review
Review bookkeeping work completed by junior staff on your assigned files and provide clear, constructive feedback
Work closely with senior team members to resolve accounting issues and strengthen technical understanding
Communicate professionally with clients to follow up on questions, request information, and keep files moving
Compliance & Process Awareness
Support indirect tax and compliance-related tasks where applicable (e.g., GST/PST, WCB tracking, basic payroll-related items)
Identify opportunities to improve processes, documentation, or file organization as you gain experience
What You Will Bring
2–3 years of progressive accounting or bookkeeping experience
Client service or public practice experience is a strong asset, but not required
CPA candidate preferred (or actively pursuing CPA)
Solid understanding of full-cycle accounting and month-end procedures
Strong proficiency in QuickBooks Online (QBO)
Experience with Caseware/CaseView/TaxPrep is an asset, or willingness to learn
Strong Excel skills with attention to detail and organization
Comfortable reviewing others’ work, while still working under senior guidance
Demonstrated sense of ownership, accountability, and willingness to ask questions early
What Success Looks Like in This Role
Your files are accurate, well-organized, and ready for review on time
Routine accounting issues are identified and resolved independently
Higher-risk or unfamiliar items are flagged early with clear questions
Junior bookkeeping work improves through your feedback and example
You show steady growth in judgment, confidence, and file ownership over time
