Job Summary

Airbnb is seeking a high-performing, detail-driven Accountant to join our Core Financial team and support our continued global growth. This is a unique opportunity to drive accuracy in our financial reporting while contributing to innovation through AI-driven automation, data tools like SQL and Alteryx, and cross-functional collaboration. In this role, you will take ownership of critical accounting areas, ensure the accuracy of our financial reporting, and help improve the efficiency and effectiveness of our close processes. Duties & Responsibilities:

• Prepare accurate and timely journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations as part of the month-end close

• Perform financial statement variance analysis and document meaningful explanations for fluctuations and identify anomalies

• Create and maintain robust documentation for accounting systems, workflows, and key processes

• Identify and implement process improvements to streamline financial operations and support scalability by leveraging AI tools, Alteryx, and SQL

• Collaborate with FP&A, Tax, Treasury, and other business teams to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial data

• Assist in special projects, ad hoc analyses, and strategic financial initiatives as needed

• Support external audit activities, including PBC requests and audit walkthroughs

Requirements and Qualifications:

• BA/BS in Accounting or Finance

• CA qualification is a must.

• 3+ years of relevant post qualification experience, ideally including public accounting or a high-growth tech environment

• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and accounting best practices

• Proficiency in ERP systems (Oracle Fusion highly preferred),

• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, formula logic

• Communicate clearly, concisely, and effectively with both finance and non-finance stakeholders

Our job titles may span more than one career level. The actual base pay is dependent upon many factors, such as: training, transferable skills, work experience, business needs and market demands. The base pay range shown below is annualized, is inclusive of allowances and is subject to change and may be modified in the future. This role may also be eligible for bonus or incentives, one or more equity programs, benefits, and Employee Travel Credits.
