Account Manager – Brookvale Based
Are you an experienced Account Manager or Sales Representative ready to hit the ground running and win business? Based at our Brookvale location, you'll thrive if you're results-driven, love building relationships, and have a proven ability to sell.
About us: Hardware & General is a family-owned building and plumbing supplier based in Sydney. Founded in 1960 by Walter MacGregor, we've grown from a single corner store into a network of retail outlets across Sydney, while remaining proudly family-run and now in our third generation.
Our core customers: Builders and trade professionals, and we pride ourselves on delivering the products, expertise, and service they rely on to get the job done.
Our locations: Brookvale (our flagship site with multiple specialist sales centres), Peakhurst, Mona Vale, Terrey Hills, Hornsby, and Dural.
What You'll Be Doing: As an Account Manager, you'll drive new business growth and manage customer relationships across Brookvale, contributing to the company's success by achieving targets and ensuring sustainable, profitable growth.
Key responsibilities include:
Managing a portfolio of key accounts and acting as the primary point of contact
Monitoring customer needs and proactively identifying opportunities to expand business with existing accounts
Negotiating and closing new sales while ensuring successful onboarding and implementation
Collaborating with internal teams to deliver excellent customer experiences
Identifying and pursuing new business development opportunities
Representing the company at industry events and networking functions
What We're Looking For:
External Sales / Account Management experience in the construction or building supply industry
Proven ability to manage key accounts and grow revenue
Excellent communication (verbal and written) and computer skills
Passion for delivering exceptional customer service and building strong client relationships
Strong planning, organisation, and autonomous work capabilities
Valid driver's licence
Australian work authorisation required
Prior experience in building or construction industry is essential
