486 - Senior Specialist - Innovation/Concept Design

The Innovation Concept Designer drives the creation of future-defining concepts, technologies, and products for elite athletes while accelerating On’s sustainability goals. Fueled by curiosity and a desire to challenge convention, you will envision and shape the industry through game-changing innovation. As part of a multidisciplinary team, you will push the boundaries of performance, leading the end-to-end concept creation process to craft the future of On’s footwear and product ecosystem.

Your Mission:

• Be a key player of the Innovation Design Studio and push the boundaries of On’s pinnacle design- and technology platforms

• Own your projects from bold visions through to successful implementation

• Collaborate closely with On’s world class athletes and science teams to elevate data driven footwear design and innovation

• Leverage your progressive 2D and 3D design approach to co-create and co-define On’s design vision

• Co-develop advanced prototyping workflows and leverage digital creation tools to bring groundbreaking concepts to life

• Collaborate with our Zurich- and Vietnam based development teams on crafting best in class performance-driven products. You will collaborate with and travel to Vietnam and Europe based development centres 2-4 times a year

Your Story:

• You hold a bachelor or master’s degree in product/industrial design and/or design engineering

• 5+ years of experience working on global innovation teams delivering groundbreaking solutions designed for performance, preferably in footwear

• Curious and entrepreneurial mind with the passion for pushing the boundaries of design and innovation

• Analytic approach – ability to break down complex problems, excellent communication and presentation skills

• Strong athlete / data driven design approach that translates into highly functional solutions

• Deep knowledge in advanced materials and manufacturing processes, eager to experiment and pioneer new technologies

• Excellent 3D and prototyping skills, computational design knowledge is a plus

• Strong visualisation skills and AI fluency, always exploring the latest tools and effectively embedding them into your creative process.

• You thrive in cross-functional teams of world class experts, collaboratively engaging in creative problem solving.

• Fluent in English both written and spoken

You will work alongside the broader Innovation team consisting of passionate experts, developers and engineers across different disciplines, designing and developing the most advanced products and technologies at On. We deliver breakthrough Innovation and Design by leveraging state of the art manufacturing technologies and computational design tools. This team is specifically tasked with designing and developing the most exciting long-term innovation solutions into high level product concepts that are driven by Athlete Performance and Sustainability goals. To be truly disruptive in this space, this team rethinks the ways our products are made from the ground up and seamlessly integrates design and technology to unlock new opportunities.
