Scott Electric Company has a current opening at our Greensburg, PA, branch for a Full-Time Warehouse Inventory Control Sunday-Thursday 11:00 pm-7:00 am + OT.
Job Summary:
The Warehouse Inventory Control Specialist is responsible for maintaining accurate inventory records and ensuring efficient material flow within a wholesale electrical distribution warehouse. This role supports daily warehouse operations by monitoring stock levels, performing cycle counts, investigating discrepancies, and ensuring accurate receipt, storage, and shipment of electrical products and materials.
Responsibilities:
Inventory Management
Perform daily, weekly, and monthly cycle counts of electrical inventory (wire, conduit, panels, lighting, breakers, fittings, etc.)
Reconcile inventory discrepancies and research root causes
Maintain accurate inventory records in the warehouse management system (WMS) or ERP system
Monitor inventory levels and recommend replenishment as needed
Assist with annual physical inventory
Receiving & Put-Away
Verify incoming shipments against purchase orders
Inspect products for damage, accuracy, and compliance with specifications
Ensure proper labeling and bin location assignment
Stock material in an efficient and correct manner
Coordinate with purchasing and sales teams regarding discrepancies or backorders
Order Accuracy & Shipping Support
Support order picking teams with location accuracy and stock availability
Assist in resolving customer order discrepancies
Warehouse Organization & Compliance
Maintain organized and clearly labeled warehouse locations
Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company procedures
Support FIFO (First In, First Out) practices where applicable
Maintain clean and safe work areas
Reporting & Analysis
Generate inventory accuracy reports
Recommend process improvements to improve efficiency and accuracy
Requirements:
High school diploma or GED required
1–3 years of inventory control experience, preferably in wholesale electrical distribution or industrial supply
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Basic math skills and ability to perform inventory calculations
Microsoft Excel and basic computer skills
Ability to operate forklifts and pallet jacks
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
Ability to stand, walk, bend, and reach for extended periods
Comfortable working in a warehouse environment (may include temperature variations)
High level of accuracy and accountability
Problem-solving mindset
Strong communication skills
Team-oriented with ability to work independently
Time management and prioritization skills
Preferred:
Experience with WMS or ERP systems (e.g., Eclipse, SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, etc.)
Understanding of electrical products and terminology
