• JOB OVERVIEW:• Preparation and finish painting of hydraulic pumps and motors to exact specifications
• ESSENTIAL DUTIES / SKILLS / RESPONSIBILITIES:• Able to identify the following conditions:• Coating and color requirements
• Setup necessary for painting conventional, and cup gun
• Setup and adjustment on a pressure pot and spray gun
• Demonstrate understanding of the following paint techniques:• Wet-Film Application
• Gravity/Suction Feed Cup Gun
• Industrial High Solids Paint application
• SKILL FACTORS:• Proper spraying technique to prevent runs and sags
• Must know how and when to properly mask off areas not to be painted when necessary
• Knowledge and use of proper personal protective equipment
• Paint booth and Air Filter cleaning and maintenance
• Reads and understands safety and technical materials used in the painting field.
• Maintains level of work performance in accordance with production deadline specifications
• Maintains, repairs, assembles and tests any equipment associated with painting; performs preventative maintenance and repairs to tools used in the painting field.
• Diagnose problems with any portion of a painted product and repair as needed.
• Break down, repair and clean paint gun daily.
• Maintain and operate painting equipment properly and safely
• Ensure high quality products with visual quality check
• Complete appropriate paperwork/log books
• WORK CONDITIONS:• Industrial worksite environment
• Exposure to air particles such as dust and chemicals
• Proper personal protective equipment is required at all times such as safety shoes, ear plugs/ear muffs, safety glasses, and respirator use
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Standing, walking, climbing, balancing, gripping, grasping, carrying and pushing/pulling required greater than 90% of the time
• Kneeling, crouching, squatting and twisting required intermittently on a daily basis
• EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:• High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred; however is not required
• Previous finishing experience in an industrial or automotive environment required
• Minimum 1 year of experience painting using either conventional or HVLP paint guns.
