Sanofi Business Operations – Medical Tower is an internal Sanofi resource organization based in India and is setup to centralize processes and activities to support Specialty Care, Vaccines, General Medicines, CMO, and R&D, Data & Digital functions. SBO strives to be a strategic and functional partner for tactical deliveries to Medical, HEVA, and Commercial organizations in Sanofi, Globally.
Main responsibilities:
The overall purpose and main responsibilities are listed below:
Design and produce Virtual Reality (VR) experiences and deliverables such as immersive medical training simulations, educational VR modules, explainer experiences, mechanism of action visualizations, and interactive scientific storytelling — as per provided guidelines and specifications. Also provide support on 360° video editing, spatial audio integration, VR environment design, interactive infographics, and other immersive media as required.
· People: Maintain effective relationships with the Content Enhancement team and Scientific Writers in SBO (and global stakeholders, based on project requirements), with the objective of ensuring VR-based scientific communication materials meet stakeholder expectations and learning outcomes.
· Performance: (1) Deliver VR-based publication and medical education content (interactive modules, immersive presentations, virtual exhibits, etc.) within agreed timelines and quality standards. (2) Extend support to develop digital and interactive deliverables including VR walkthroughs, patient education simulators, 360° videos, animated icons, and other immersive formats as needed..
· Process: (1) Collaborate closely with designers and SBO Scientific Writers to understand project-specific requirements and deliver high-quality VR outputs on time. (2) Proactively communicate and flag any issues related to project timelines or input quality to the Team Lead. (3) Prioritize and manage assigned VR projects, adhering to defined quality standards and delivering on schedule per stakeholder specifications. (4) Use VR development tools and 3D modeling techniques to create immersive environments, interactive elements, and realistic simulations. (5) Develop storyboards and user journey maps to visualize VR scenes and create engaging, scientifically accurate experiences. (6) Create and manage 3D digital assets optimized for VR platforms (including low-poly modeling, texture optimization, and performance tuning). (7) Interpret concept art and scientific inputs to build virtual characters, anatomical models, environments, and interactive props. (8) Design and develop original visual assets and interactive components specifically for VR video and simulation deliverables. (9) Prototype and iterate on VR models, interactions, and navigation flows based on feedback from Scientific Writers and stakeholders. (10) Recreate real-world medical or laboratory environments in VR for training and educational purposes. (11) Stay updated on the latest advancements in VR design, immersive storytelling, 360° capture, and interactive development tools. (12) Assist in problem-solving, suggest best practices, and explore new software, technologies, and resources to improve VR workflows. (13) Actively participate in team meetings and contribute ideas to enhance VR project execution. (14) Share VR-related best practices, tools, and learnings with the team. (15) Demonstrate flexibility to adapt to evolving project demands and deliver high-quality VR outputs on time.
About you
· Experience: 2 to 6 years of experience in VR content creation, immersive media, or interactive 3D experiences.
Desirable: Experience in the pharmaceutical, healthcare, or life sciences industry, particularly in creating VR-based scientific or medical communication.
· Soft skills: Stakeholder management; communication skills; and ability to work independently and and collaboratively in a cross-functional team environment.
· Technical skills:
• Must have strong hands-on experience with VR development platforms (e.g., Unity, Unreal Engine) and tools for 360° video editing, spatial audio, and VR interactivity.
• Proficiency in Blender, Adobe After Effects, Adobe Premiere Pro (including 360° video workflow), Adobe Photoshop, and Illustrator.
• Experience with VR headset platforms (e.g., Meta Quest, HTC Vive) and optimization for standalone/mobile VR.
• Knowledge of useful plugins/scripts in After Effects and Blender for particle effects, animations, and VR compositing.
• Strong understanding of VR UX/UI principles, including user navigation, interaction design, and motion comfort.
• Skilled in 3D modeling and texturing with optimization for real-time rendering in VR.
• Ability to create VR-ready 3D assets that balance visual quality and performance.
• Good knowledge of lighting, rendering, and spatial audio integration in immersive environments.
• Ability to create visually compelling and engaging VR experiences that enhance scientific understanding.
• Strong capability to translate complex scientific or medical information into intuitive, interactive VR experiences.
• Creative, aesthetic, and independent thinker with awareness of current trends in immersive design and experiential storytelling.
• Experience adhering to brand guidelines and developing reusable VR templates and modules.
· Education: Graduate or postgraduate degree in any field. Preference for graphic design, multimedia, animation, or digital arts, with a focus on scientific visualization or immersive media
· Languages: Excellent knowledge of English language (spoken and written)
