Job Description
Elevate your career with Jack Link’s, a global leader in protein snacking. If you’re a 2nd or 3rd Year Electrical Apprentice looking to continue your trade in a hands-on industrial environment, this is a great opportunity to build your skills in our Casino production facility.
In addition to the usual domestic lighting and power equipment, you’ll gain exposure to complex electrical systems, instrumentation, control and automation, production machinery, preventative maintenance, fault-finding, and site-based electrical work, while being supported by experienced tradespeople and leaders.
Why Jack Link’s?
Completing an electrical apprenticeship in a food production facility provides a unique blend of industrial and automation expertise that is highly valued across many sectors. Beyond standard electrical work like lighting and power installs, this environment exposes you to specialized technologies that keep modern production lines running.
A bit about us
You might know us for our protein snacks — but behind that is a team that shows up, works hard, and looks out for each other.
We talk about embracing the “wild side,” but for us that means:
• Backing ourselves
• Being open to learning and trying new things
• Putting in the effort to get the job done right
• Taking pride in the work we do every day
About the role
As a 2nd or 3rd Year Electrical Apprentice, you’ll be part of our Maintenance team, supporting the electrical maintenance and operation of our Casino facility.
This is a hands-on role where you will be supported by qualified tradespeople and leaders as you:
• Assist with electrical maintenance, repairs, and inspections
• Learn how industrial machinery and plant equipment operate
• Support preventative maintenance activities
• Assist with fault-finding and breakdown support
• Help maintain electrical systems across site equipment and facilities
• Follow workplace health and safety procedures
• Continue your TAFE/training requirements as part of your apprenticeship
What we’re looking for
You don’t need to have experience in food manufacturing, but you do need to be interested in building your electrical trade in an industrial environment.
What matters most is that you:
• Are currently a 2nd or 3rd Year Electrical Apprentice
• Have a genuine interest in electrical maintenance, machinery, and industrial equipment
• Show up with a positive attitude and willingness to learn
• Work safely and follow instructions
• Take pride in doing a good job and work well with others
• Are reliable, practical, and ready to get involved
• Hold a current driver’s licence, or are working towards one
Why join us?
• Hands-on industrial experience – Build your trade skills in a real production facility with exposure to machinery, equipment, and site electrical systems
• Automation and PLCs: You will gain hands-on experience with Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), which are the "brains" of automated food production lines.
• Instrumentation and Control: This environment allows you to master systems that monitor critical variables like temperature, pressure, and flow to ensure food safety.
• Motor Control: Food facilities rely heavily on conveyors and pumps, providing deep expertise in motor control and fault-finding
• Support to complete your apprenticeship – Work alongside experienced tradespeople who will help guide your development
• Regular team lunches & events – We celebrate our people with quarterly lunches and site events
• Recognition that actually means something – Be acknowledged through our recognition programs when you go above and beyond
• Supportive team environment – Work alongside people who show up, help each other out, and get the job done
