About the Role
As a 2nd Class Maintenance Relief Engineer, you will perform basic maintenance tasks as required and cover rotating shifts when necessary. The position ensures the safe and efficient operation of the plant, maintaining proper functionality and performance of all equipment and machinery in accordance with health and safety standards. The role also requires maintaining compliance with TSSA regulations and all other applicable government and company regulations.

Key Responsibilities Include:
Provides shift and Assistant Shift Engineer relief as required. Responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the Walton Street Steam Plant.
Performs maintenance and housekeeping tasks when not providing shift relief.
Ensures compliance with OHSA regulations and internal health and safety policies.
Carries out other maintenance-related tasks as directed by the Chief Engineer or their designate.
About Your Experience and Qualifications
Hold a 2nd Class Operating Engineer Certificate.
Hold a valid Ontario drivers license.
Have a minimum of 3 years of experience operating as Shift Engineer.
Must be able to cover rotating shifts as required and accommodate work schedule changes on short notice.
Must have a strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to safely perform maintenance tasks alone or in a team setting.
Self-motivated individual capable of working with minimum supervision.
This position will have direct contact with service contractors, suppliers, inspectors (insurance and government) and customers.
Attendance, punctuality, appearance, and positive behavior required to foster positive relations with contractors, clients, staff, etc., that is in line with a leadership position.
