26-001– EMERGENCY MEDICAL RESPONDER (INTERNAL POSTING)
Associated Ambulance IFT – Acheson
Permanent Full-Time | 12-Hour Shifts
Location: Acheson, AB
We currently have the following schedules open for current EDMONTON IFT only employees to apply. If multiple IFT employees apply, the position will be awarded based upon seniority/employment within the Edmonton IFT. All hiring requirements and pre-requisites still apply. This is a permanent position. This posting will be open for 5 (five) days and will close on February 16, 2026. At that time, if there are no applicants, it will be opened up for all Associated Ambulance employees as well as external general applicants to apply.
IFT staff are responsible for the safe transport and care of non-emergent patients between medical facilities. This role supports patient movement for testing, treatment, facility-to-facility transfers, and return transports within AHS zones.
Complete patient care reports and required documentation
Maintain vehicle, equipment, and bay cleanliness
Ensure units are stocked, ready, and operational
Work collaboratively with nurses, physicians, EMS, and healthcare teams
Schedule
Currently assigned unit: 1B601 12-hour car
Days: 0600–1800
Nights: 1800–0600
2 days / 2 nights
Set rotation: 4 on / 4 off
Anticipated start date: February 28, 2026
Physical Requirements
Perform regular standing, walking, bending, reaching, and crouching
Safely lift, move, and transport patients and equipment
Provide care in physically demanding or awkward environments
Required Qualifications
Accredited EMR certification
Up to date on all MCPS and Internal Training
Active Alberta College of Paramedics (ACoP) registration
Current BCLS-HCP
Valid Alberta Class 4 license with clean abstract (required on file from hire)
F.A.R.E. completed within 6 months of start date (required on file from hire)
Vulnerable Sector Check completed within the past 3 months (required on file from hire)
