• Engage with business stakeholders on requests for Information System service enhancements and projects to document functional and non-functional requirements, use case scenarios, and test scripts and plans
• Facilitate requirements gathering meetings with the business
• Conduct process audits; create process maps, workflow diagrams, structure charts and other types of system or process representations; facilitate continuous improvement workshops
• Provide assistance on technology assessments and identification of technology solutions
• Support business and IS decision making processes by conducting detailed analysis that could include financial impact comparisons, technology comparisons, data quality reviews
• Act as an agent of change readying teams to address business change
• Work independently, as well as under the direction of project managers or senior business analysts
• Foster team work across IT and business teams for a one-team culture
• Contribute to the development of a business analysis practice at Avigilon IT ensuring BA documents are thorough and structured, requirements are clear, well understood and documented and that delivered IT solutions are traceable to documented requirements
• Adhere to IT PMO processes and standards
• Provide timely status updates to project managers or senior business analysts
• Maintains appropriate professional designations and up-to-date knowledge of current information technology techniques and tools
• Degree or diploma in a related IT area or discipline
• 2+ years business analyst experience, working on progressively larger and more complex projects
• Interest in working with technology to create innovative business solutions and advancements
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Exposure to producing BRDs, use cases, user scenarios, user stories, BPMs
• Relationship and business outcome focused for all deliverables
• Professional designation and experience in a manufacturing environment would be an asset
• Some travel may be required
