The Family Services Coordinator is responsible for managing the administrative tasks that support students and families. The Family Services Coordinator shall be responsible for carrying out the parent involvement required by the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA). 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Transportation 

Provide oversight and supervision of all student public and private transportation. 

Coordinate and schedule transportation for arrival and dismissal with identified providers.  

Provide daily oversight of the school transportation program; handle parent issues related to transportation; and work with transportation providers and Heads of Schools regarding operational details and strategic communication to parents. 

 

Enrollment 

Lead planning and advertising of the annual enrollment lottery. 

Manage school recruitment and enrollment in the application process 

Maintaining the waiting list and assuring compliance with the school’s enrollment policy and requirements for charter school enrollment, which is monitored by MA Department of Elementary and Secondary Education. 

Conduct the annual enrollment lottery  

 

Fundraising 

Organize fundraising activities such as Jeans Days, Red Sox Shirt Days, Spring Raffle, etc. 

Collaborate with outside providers to conduct fundraising campaigns 

Administration

Evaluation and management of Parent Liaisons  

Coordinate and oversee preparation and distribution of all school-wide notices and mailings to parents. 

Guide the Family Liaisons with the details involved in distribution, collection, and compilation of the data from the annual parent survey. 

 

Advocacy 

Assist school administration with communication, mailings, trainings and meetings necessary to meet parent involvement goals  

Lead efforts to identify and recruit family advocates to participate in ongoing advocacy efforts 

Coordinate opportunities for families to engage with the legislators who represent the school and the families served at the school 

Maintain connection and communication with family advocates

EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS:

Bilingual English and Spanish required, excellent writing and speaking skills in Spanish and English.

Ability to translate verbally and in writing. 

Associate’s degree required; Bachelor’s degree preferred 

Demonstrates excellent communication skills (oral and written)

Demonstrates management, interpersonal and organizational skills 

Demonstrates a high level of technology uses such as Google Suite and Microsoft Office. 

Experience working with parents and stakeholders in a school setting 

Schedule: Full-Time, Full-Year Position (260 days); 3 weeks of vacation

Reports to: Principal
