Job Description
The Instructional Coach will serve as a school leader who is focused on supporting teachers to deliver the most rigorous and joyful academic experience for our students that leads to exceptional academic gains. The coach also plays a central role in the academic success of the school and works closely with the school Principals to develop and then lead implementation of clearly defined instructional practice that drives towards grade-level standard attainment, impactful curriculum usage, assessment success, and teacher development.
Job Responsibilities
School Leadership
Serve as a member of the Campus Leadership Team, including attending team meetings, leading campus-wide instructional practice, and demonstrating professionalism and care for staff, students, and families
Collaborate effectively with Elementary and Middle Academy Principals and Assistant Principals, while guiding leadership of instructional best-practice
Collaborate effectively with MTSS, ELD, and Social-emotional wellness teams to support alignment of instruction and cultural systems and support for struggling students
Create and execute on plans to move school toward higher academic achievement scores across all students and student subgroups.
Teacher Development and Coaching
Live model and coach everyday by being present, positive, and proactive in all parts of the school day
Conduct daily teacher observations, integrate feedback into planning meetings and coaching sessions that lead to teacher and instructional leader development, and support the implementation of action steps
Provide real-time feedback to teachers during instruction and contribute to or lead teachers’ mid-year reviews
Communicate clear expectations, plans, and benchmarks to coachees based on individual and school-determined needs
Plan and deliver high-quality professional development that trains staff members in key pedagogical issues
Plan and execute team meetings, PLCs, and content meetings that are solutions oriented and data driven
Data Driven Instruction
Conduct and share deep analysis of data; lead effective school-wide and/or grade-level analysis meetings based on student performance and outcomes
Build grade level/content area action plans and materials to respond to and address data
Monitor grade-level progress against assessment cycle benchmarks
Support and participate in development of PLC protocols and execution of PLC structure
Job Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s degree preferred
Teaching/leadership credential or ability to attain credential highly preferred
10 years teaching and working in classrooms and/or coaching teachers, preferably in urban schools and/or communities
Experience as a Dean or equivalent leadership role highly preferred
Experience at a high-performing charter school or charter network highly preferred but not required
Minimum Physical Requirements:
Be able to walk quickly, bend, kneel, crouch, sit, stand, grab or hold with one or both hands.
Be able to lift up to 40lbs without difficulty
The ability to sit for extended periods during group training
Strong classroom management in elementary and/or middle school
Salary and Benefits
Vega Collegiate Academy offers a competitive salary and comprehensive health benefits package. Starting salary range is from $75,000 - $110,000.
Start Date
Vega Collegiate Academy staff will begin training and orientation on 7/20/2026.
