Job description
A warehouse picker/forklift operator will be responsible for providing the production floor with the supplies that are needed in order for production to be maintained uninterrupted. To do this, a picker will need to be able to accurately document supplies as they are delivered and stored, as well as document the withdrawal of supplies as they are provided to the production floor in order to maintain a precise inventory.
A warehouse picker/forklift operator should have excellent physical stamina, detailed and thorough work habits, and the ability to complete tasks accurately and quickly. This work is often fast-paced, so working well under pressure and deadlines is a must. In addition, basic computer skills are also a must.
Warehouse Picker/Forklift Operator Responsibilities
Receive, check, store, and pull supplies all while precisely documenting supplies utilizing inventory technology
Communicate with the production floor to provide a constant stock of materials
Stage materials for multiple shifts
Monitor supply levels reporting shortages
Ensure work areas are kept clean, neat and well-organized
Performs other general warehouse duties as needed
WarehousePicker/Forklift Operator Requirements
Proficient organizational skills
Excellent verbal communication skills
Basic computer skills
Ability to work on your feet 8+ hours per day
Frequent lifting of supplies 50+ lbs.
Regularly bend, squat, push, and pull
Must be able to climb rolling staircases
Proficient in/willing to become proficient in forklift operation
Must be able to climb on and off powered industrial equipment
